Biography

A physician specializing in sleep and respiratory management, Andrea Loewen helps patients with neuromuscular conditions, such as ALS, spinal cord injury and airway diseases. Her medical practice is based out of the Peter Lougheed Centre in Calgary, the home of the Southern Alberta Chronic Ventilation Program and Neuromuscular Respiratory Clinic. Andrea also works at the Foothills Medical Centre in sleep medicine. She and her husband David, who is a family physician, have been involved in university student ministry since their undergraduate days. While in medical school, they both participated in the Christian Medical & Dental Association (CMDA) group. (CMDA has a ministry relationship with Navigators Canada). Currently, as organizers of the CMDA chapter in Calgary, they bring together medical and dental students for times of fellowship, support and advocacy. Andrea and David are parents to three children, and attend Varsity Bible Church in Calgary. She sits on the board of directors for Navigators Canada. “Commit your way to the LORD, trust in Him” (Psalm 37:5).
