Biography

He was born and raised in Penang, Malaysia and comes from a Taoist Buddhist background. He met Christ through The Navigators while studying at the University of Melbourne, Australia in 1973. After working as an accountant, Alan came on staff with The Navigators in 1979. In 1984, Alan returned to Malaysia where he served as a staff trainer and campus director. He served as the Navigator country leader for Malaysia from 1988 until 1999. In 2006, the Asian Navigators selected Alan as the regional director of the Asia-Pacific work. Alan joined the International Executive Team of The Navigators in January 2013. Alan is married to Connie, and they are blessed with three adult sons. At present, he serves on the Canadian Navigators Board on the HR Committee.
