Campus Intern, McMaster University
I'm from the small town of Kincardine, Ontario, on the shoreline of Lake Huron. Growing up, I was blessed by a circle of role models and peers who helped create an environment which valued involvement, contribution and responsibility to the community, and beyond. I am encouraged by the ways that this model of service and communal engagment continues with this new opportunity with the Navigators.
My passion for issues of global social justice brought me to Carleton University in Ottawa to complete a Bachelor of Public Affairs and Policy Management with a specialization in Development Studies. While at Carleton, participation with the Navigators campus ministry helped me to create meaningful friendships and provided me with opportunities to learn, lead, be equipped, and set down roots in my faith. My time with the Carleton Navigators also showed me how my passion for justice actually extends into a passion for supporting people in finding freedom and wholeness in areas of their personal life, and in faith.
