Key Note Speakers:
Geordon and Marilyn, are Canadians. Geordon was raised in Colombia, South America. After completing high school in Bogotá and a BA in Criminology in Vancouver (SFU), Geordon worked as an officer with the Saanich Police for seven years. Marilyn was raised in Victoria, and has an extensive musical background. She has directed choirs and was the accompanist for the Greater Victoria Police Chorus.
Both Geordon and Marilyn have completed their Masters in Leadership. Through their work they have been able to mobilize indigenous leaders, particularly young people – engaging, empowering and equipping them – to bring hope to this generation. The Rendles have experience as hosts of a weekly TCK (Third Culture Kid) youth group to offer a safe place for multi-national background students to gather and to raise awareness of their place and potential in the world.
Ron's passion is journeying with people—a passion that comes from experiencing the power of the gospel in his own life, marriage and ministry. He holds a Master's degree in counselling and a post-graduate degree in marriage and family therapy. He’s been a therapist for 25 years and currently also serves as a staff-care and coaching specialist with the Navigators of Canada. Ron and Kathy have been living in La Belle Province for 30 years. They have three children, one still at home.
Chris, his wife Heather, their five children and their dog Luna live in Ottawa. Chris started out his career working in telecommunications and then went on to lead the Navigators student ministry at Carleton University for 10 years. Since 2014 Chris has served as the National Director for the Navigators of Canada. Chris is passionate about helping others to know and follow Jesus. Chris enjoys running and the outdoors. The Barretts are active in their neighbourhood and enjoy hosting block parties and street hockey games. Fun fact: Chris and Heather’s eldest and youngest children were born 17 years apart on the same date!
Basecamp West 2017 was in Banff. Some great times, great memories!
